'04 exhaust/ muffler sound

I've got a '04 w/ the 4.6l. Im not concerned about more power or better fuel mileage......I am but, I'll be honest and immature......Im more interested in a nice low growl.

Would just replacing the muffler be beneficial or is it necessary for a full cat back system? Which mufflers have a good sound & as far as Flowmasters go.....whats the difference in series?

Welcome aboard! Congrats on your new truck. I just got an 01
SCrew w/5.4 a couple of months ago. I had the Flowmaster
50 series installed last week and I love it. It has a nice meaty
growl but at highway speeds it doesn't drive you crazy. My mechanic said that most of the time he tries to talk people out
of the 40 series cause they just are too loud. I too just wanted the rumble but have been pleasantly surprised with the difference
in pick up and go. I put a K&N air filter in today and I swear that
the Flows sound deeper!
Again, welcome aboard and congrats on your new ride!

Mark

So paying all the tickets due to being illegal, is worth being a "real man"?
