Exhaust 1996 super cab
Hello All
I recently bought a 1996 F150 super cab 4 X 4, 5.0 engine, auto xmsn, with 191 k miles on it. It runs very well but I cannot hear the exhaust. The Toyota Corrola I just got rid off with a 4 cyl. engine was louder than the truck. I usually depend on the engine sound since I do not have a tach but I can hardly hear the engine. I think that is a reasonable reason (excuse) for a louder system. Also the truck does not much in the way of b_lls.
I crawled under to see what the exhaust system looked like. It appears to be a replacement. What confused me is, there is a small device right after the catalytic converter that I am thinking is a resonator. Then a short pipe to the muffler. The a pipe to just behind the rear wheel.
All the replacement pictures I have seen do not make sense to me.
I am considering the Flowmaster 40. I do not care to do any welding. I would like a drop in system. Anyone have any ideas on this? Thank you.
Richard
