Post Tips

What is the main point of tips, can they help or hurt performance that much, or are they just there to look good and alter the sound a little?

Tips are cosmetic. The larger the diameter the louder they are. Go with stainless. More in the beginning less in the end.

Like richgonfishn said.....Purely cosmetic...I went with a 3 inch Polished Stainless one from Thermal Research. Exits out of the factory spot.

anyone ever try or hear those Monza Pacesetter dual tips? They look kinda neat, plus I like the bright yellow inside and chrome outside of em.

Cool

I didn't buy those tips - I went with a 3"x12" chromed steel tip. Those were in the $100.00 range if I remember.

I took a bunch of pictures of different types of tips at a place in Tacoma, WA called Pro-Max, http://www.pro-max.com. They do mail order and have several other models available. Their website is pretty extensive and well worth your time to go look around.

Pictures of some of the other tips are in my photo album at http://content.communities.msn.com/isapi/fetch.dll?action=get_album& ID_Topic=11&ID_Community=SS97FordsPics - scroll down toward the bottom.

97f150,

How much? Did you have to cut the stock pipe since it bends toward the rear wheel?

Tcole,

I like yours too and checked it out on your site. Who makes it?

Triton46,

Not sure of who actually makes it - but it's available via mailorder for Pro-Max in Tacoma, WA. Their website has the specific info on how to order - http://www.pro-max.com

Cool

You're right - it isn't on the site. Give 'em a call and describe it to them (it's hanging on the wall in the service department service writer's area). Perhaps you could offer to email them the picture. If nothing else - get in touch with me and I'll swing by there for ya and find out the info you need. You can email me directly at TColegrove@excite.com
