Exhaust on a '99 4.6

Exhaust on a '99 4.6
I got a price the other day of $200.00 for the Flowmaster 40 series and 3 inch from the cat back. Is that a good price and will it affect my towing?

I paid $145.00 for a Flowmaster 50 series and new 2.5" pipe from the 'Y' to the muffler, 3" pipe from the muffler out the stock location (including a 12"x3.5" chrome tip).
I had been warned about opening up the exhaust system too much (3" pipe all the way) because of a loss of low-end torque.
I'm pretty happy with the way mine is setup.

I think I got lucky! My friend works at a bodyshop, and he called me a few days ago and told me about a 1999 F-150 that was a total loss. I went and checked it out and low and behold it had the EXACT exhaust system I was looking for. I was told if I can get it off it was mine, so I guess we know the rest of that story! It sounds great and really helped with the perfomance of this 4.6 .
