Thumbs up New custom cat-back

My mechanic and I just got done with my custom cat-back exhaust. I think it looks pretty good, sounds great, and gave me a few more hp. It felt like the low end torque was still there if not more. It doesn't look as "clean" as the Gibson's or Flowmaster's, but was a 1/4 of the price. So all in all, I'm very pleased with the custom work. It would be nice to have stainless though.

Question

Just want to say that it looks awesome. How does it sound and what type of muffler is it. It looks like a flowmaster.

Thanks steveo, Well I thought it looked pretty good myself. The muffler is a Vortex Iron Tuff. And it sounds almost exactly like a Flowmaster,a little deeper though. It's a 3" input and dual 2 1/2" out. Then it goes into the 3" chrome slash cut tips. Not bad for $60 for the whole deal. He's a hell of a friend. I'll try to get a sound clip up on my site soon.

Very nice. That is the exact setup I want on my truck... well maybe a dual-in/dual out muffler. But the exit is perfect!

SON OF A GUN!!! Wish I had friends like that! Shoot, you could put a coke can on there for a muffler and at $60 you're still doing well!!!! Looks good man, wish I could get a hook up like that, those are what dreams are made of.

That's exactly how I had mine done! Same muffler too. Custom is the way to go. You can save a good amount of money!

Priced it today... true duals, two high-flow mufflers (not sure of brand), two tips... installed for $120. Think that I'll try to talk the wife into it. Thanks for the pics so she can visualize!

Curious Spargo2, when you put the exhaust right there, exiting in front of the rear wheel, you don't have a problem with sediments and that rear wheel? If I remember correctly, didn't Ford recall their design that did that because the right rear wheel cover was turning green or something? Not sure, but was just wondering. Thanks.

Not for sure about the recall. The exhaust has only been on there since saturday, but I haven't noticed anything yet. Hell, I wash at least twice a week so I probably wouldn't notice anything. The L's are about the same set up and the "Gibson Super Truck" come out in about the same place. Any one else see any discoloration from this?
