Question questions

Alright guys and gals, I got my F150 Ext. Cab 4X4 ORP 5.4 3.55ls about a month ago. I was wanting to put an aftermarket exhaust on, but I'm overwhelmed and confused as to which one. I plan on pulling a travel trailer so I don't want to lose any low end torque, does anyone have any recommendations? Also, will my warranty be voided by installing the cat-back and an FIPK?

Cool

Welcome aboard wemjr,

There are a lot of choices out there. If you are looking to avoid torque loss - keep the pipe diameter small (2.5" for dual outlets). My system is stock up to the Flowmaster 50-series Deltaflow and a single 3" pipe exiting in the stock location. Not too loud, no loss of low-end. Is there a speed shop that can help you out? They generally have the experience to put together a good system for ya.

Your warranty will be voided by the cat back and FIPK *ONLY IF* those modifications can be proven to have caused damage to other warranteed parts and systems. Do a search, both on these message boards and on the web, for the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act for detailed information.

There are many good exhaust suggestions on this site. My personal preference=Dynomax exhaust ( as you've probably seen elsewhere ). About FIPK's: they won't void the warranty, but the only 50-state CARB legal system is the K&N (not the AirAid or WMS). This can become relevant at inspections.

Thanks for the help guys! The one reputable speed shop in town closed so that's why I was asking for help. I'll probably do the FIPK first then do the cat-back. I went to the Dynomax website but I didn't see any cat-back "systems" only mufflers. Around here everybody has flowmasters, but I haven't heard an F-150 with them.

At Dynomax's website if you look close there is a place to click for "mufflers" and a different click place for "systems". a-1performance.com has discriptions of system types/components/and flow rates.
