Smile loudest exhaust possible on a truck?

All I care about for the exhaust is its as loud as possible. I don't need to worry about hp and torque improvements. But if you guys could tell me in your opinion what company makes the loudest exhaust for gmc 5.7 v8 suburban that would be great. thanks

Cool

Not sure you have come to the right place, you might try GM Board somewhere for info on exhaust for a Suburban. Good Luck.

Cool

Probably the loudest exhaust you can get for your Sub would be to place a pair of fragmentation grenades on the exhaust manifolds. Go run on the freeway to get them really really hot. Guaranteed to be loud.

Then you can go and get a real truck.

Hi dellyman,

Welcome to F-150 Online!

Well, some guys will remove the whole exhaust system after the catalytic converters, and replace it all with straight pipe, making the cats serve as mufflers. This is pretty loud, and will definately give you a pronounced V-8 sound.

You could also remove the cats and run nothing but straight pipes from the exhaust manifolds all the way back, but that is highly illegal, and is going to be illegally loud, resulting in tickets.

To more directly answer your actual question, as far as which *company* makes the loudest exhaust system, that's probably going to be Flowmaster. We generally recommend that you use a good name-brand cat-back exhaust system that has been properly flow-engineered, so instead of straight pipes you might want to take a look at Flowmaster for a complete system.

Good luck with your loud-as-possible exhaust!

Thumbs up

ARE YOU LOST??? Anyway Chevy people are human too. Suggestions: #1 straight pipes #2 with mufflers-Dynomax Ultra-flow's are not quite as loud as Flowmaster 40's but are a substantially better product (straight thru, higher flow rates, cheap). My opinion only, others will vary.

Hey at least he wants one, eh? - A man can dream, can't he!?!?
The best bang for the buck for loudness is to go with strait pipes or have a muffler shop make you a custom exhaust system....

Now, now. Be nice. It took a lot of ***** for a Chevy guy to come here and ask for advice...........

How bout just simply replacing the muffler with a straight pipe, and turning the tail pipe out the side in as short a distance possible? You may lose backpressure, but it should be as loud as can be without getting into the cats.

Well, I have a 98 F-150 4.6L V8 and I have just straight pipe and no mufflers. I do have catalytic converters though, but im sure that will be plenty loud, and mine is. But Mine sounds really good and I like it. So go for it!!

All I can say is... WHY? Most of us outgrew that kind of inadequacy when we were 18.
Besides, even if that did sound cool on an
F-150, ... a Suburban? Come on? Not exactly anyone's idea of hot race car.

Kenster, Dellyman said he just turned 16 so he hasn't outgrown it at 18 yet. He just got his license, so he probably even deserves some open header time.

Small piece of advice from one who has already made it through the loud exhaust phase of life. Check with your local police department for any vehicle noise laws, you might save yourself some money in the long run. Those exessive noise fines will add up after while.
