JBA and Magnaflow drone

Hello all,

I did it... I installed JBA shorties, Magnaflow Cats and Magnaflow cat back. What a sound! Absolutely incredible. Deep and throaty sound! My only issue is that it drones the cabin ove 60mph. Does anybody have the same setup? Did anybody install an extra resonator to control the drone?

Thanks,
Stephane

It's a noise/vibration at a frequency that is kind of annoying. It's fun for the first few minutes but on a 1500 miles trip with the family, it's kind of a pain. Makes you wish you still had your stock muffler/setup.

I just put two magnaflows on my 03 lightning. I went ahead and put two so i could get my exhaust done friday, and im sure satisfied with it. Mine is now a true dual setup and the drone is not that bad. I like how at idle its bout like stock but when you hit the gas you can sure tell its there.

Ya i did install a magnaflow with dual outs but left the OEM cats on, and i do get that same sound u get at 60MPH, i think installing a resonator would help. i have to cruise at 65 so i wont hear that sound. i have a 2004 F150 supercrew 4.6L

that drone you hear. is it a slight vibration throw the floor boards and steering wheel. i've had my magnaflow installed since last June and i just noticed this happening about 3-4 weeks ago. i was thinking it might be a universal joint or something but it seems to be only when the truck is moving and under a load like taking off from a light. it seems to die down when the OD kicks in. the vibration is really annoying on the hands thru the steering wheel. i'm going to Ford tomorrow to have my oil change and the shop foreman is going to go out with me on a test drive to see if it is drive train related. i think it is the exhaust myself but i'd like them to tell me what they think before i give them my opinon. if it is i'll live with it cause the sound off sets the vibratrion any day.
