I posted a problem on the transmission board regarding a jingling noise. Dirtydog replied back that I should look into the catalytic converter. I ran over to the local Meineke and they confirmed that converters were shot. Luckily for me however, the Meineke technician informed me that all catalytic converters are mandated by the government to be warrantied for 8 years or 80K. My truck has 78,300 miles on it. The Meineke guy said I should just hurry up and take it over to the dealer. Though they tyically don't volunteer this info, The dealer is required to replace catalytic converters free of charge if they go bad within this time frame. I ran directly over to the dealer and they confirmed this. Due to dirtydog's timely advice and the Meineke man's honesty, I am going to save a ton of cash.

So in case anyone didn't already know this, catalytic converters are warrantied by the dealer for 8 years or 80,000 miles.
