Hey guys, I have a friend who would like to get an aftermarket air intake system for his new 05 F-150 Lariat 4x4. I own a Lightning and dont know much about the new N/A 5.4's, so thought I would look to the wisdom of this board. He's swapping the mufflers out on his truck next week, and thought while he's at it, to install an aftermarket air intake kit. He's just looking for a little bit better breathing truck and a bit better (louder) intake noise.

Your ideas?

I think there is a guy on Ebay doing K&N for 250 delivered.

Do some more reading on intake kits. It appears the AFE system (with newest filter media) is your best bet.

I'm just running a K&N filter and DIY intake. With the crappy oil in a K&N I'm thinking of replacing it with an AFE.

 

Midatlanticexhaust e-bay store is where I bought mine for 250.00 shipped. The k&n is fine its the oil that is used that needs replaced. I use Maxima Fab-1 fabric filter oil on mine it is alot stickier and won't come off with water. Any motorcycle shop can get it for you. They and my self use it on k&n's on dirt bikes and 4-wheelers it is awesome stuff !
