I am also looking at putting a dual or single system in mine soon. But I want something that isn't that loud at all, but really increases the airflow. Any suggestions? I had Gibson on my last truck, and it was the perfect sound. But I've heard if I'm going to leave the cats on this Ford, then the airflow probably won't get any better until I can take them off.

Let's see... you want to uncork the exhaust with "hi-flow" cats to get more flow ( which you won't without extensive engine HP increases, because healthy stock cats breath pretty well on a stock truck), then plug it back up with a Blowmaster.
Can you say oxymoron? As in using Blowmaster ( or any chambered muffler ) and high exhaust gas velocity in the same sentence.
Jeez... I just cannot believe this thread.
Use SEARCH, get educated.

Leave the Cats
I have a 2004 5.4 with the stock cats and a 3 camber flow with single inlet and dual outlet sounds real good and deep but a little quite. if you want go with the 2 camber and cats, it will still be deep but louder. If you remove the cats it will put in a would of ntrouble codes and ****ty performance out of you motort.

??? oh no, heere we go again! There is more to life than trying to get people to turn their heads! If it's because of your loud exhaust, they are probably turning their heads to yell profanities at you! Why else would they turn their heads? Do all vehicles worth looking at tend to have loud obnoxious exhaust?

I was always under the impression that the cats provided a certain amount of back pressure that the motor had to have. Now I understand the faster that exhaust flows the more power you get. So by gutting the cats you would lose the back pressure the engine would need. For me I went with a Borla exhaust and love it. I was just looking for the V8 sound and a little growl when I jumped on it. Not to loud since I do a lot of highway travel and didn’t want to go deaf. I would never buy a blowmaster as so perfectly put in another post.
