Need help which Magnaflow?

Hi,

I previously had a magnaflow 5x8x24 on my truck and it was just too quiet. Went back to the muffler shop and the guy talked me into the flowmaster 50 series. Sound is ok but i liked the deeper tone of the magnaflow muffler. So im going back and having them put a magnaflow back on but just dont know which one.

I want it loud outside but dont want alot of that annoying drone inside. A little humming is ok inside but nothing too overbearing. I was thinking a 5x8x18 or a 5x8x14. Single in dual out. Anyone with experience with these mufflers please help.

Truck is a 2004 fx4 5.4L

Thanks for any help

thanks for the reply! I went ahead and installed the 5x8x14 and it sounds awesome. The thing i was scared of was drone at highway speeds but only a little humming is heard with the radio off. If the radio is on nothing is heard. But during acceleration it sounds great.

Hey Triton,

If you dont mind my asking, where did you get the install done? Been wanting to do it for my truck but I have no idea who to use in S. Fla. If you dont mind sending me the info Id really appreciate it. Just email me at sanc1384@bellsouth.net. Sorry to hijack but Ive been looking for a good shop locally for awhile and I just had to ask.

Thanks,

Luis S
