Well, the easiest way is to pull the engine, but besides that, yes, taking the wheels and wheel well liners out is the best way. The passenger's side is still pretty tough to get at though. Good luck.

You are definitely going to snap some studs use a lot of penetrating oil let it sit then hit them again, I did that with my 97 helped out a bunch but I still snapped off about 4 of them.

Well I'm hoping not to snap any, Yeah right like that's gonna happen, but when you snapped your studs did you leave them in or how did you get them out?

On the drivers side I took the tire and inner fender out but it was how the hedders were bent is what was so bad. On the pass. side I took out the inner fender but installed the hedder in 20 mins. Mine is a 03, so the bolts came out easy, just be sure to use some never-sieze on the hedders bolts. Had a friend who put locktite on his, we had to retp 6 of the 8 holes. For some reason he wanted to keep his hedders when he trade his truck in?

After sizing up the situation, my lack of proper tools, time, and equipment I took mine to a performannce shop... Damn near $700 later they were on, dear god what a PITA, and they broke my EGR valve, had to bend the tube to fit properly, and to top it off there's a small exhaust leak somewhere... I wish I had a place to work on my cars, and all the tools I need.
