What Would You Do?

I have a 98 F150 w 4.2 I want to install flowmaster for better sound, I am a trying to learn about my truck but I don't have much experience some good help would be great. I don't want a loud sound just a low grumble afterall it is a V6. Thanks

Go with the flowmaster catback exhaust system. It has a 50 series muffler and it sounds awesome especially on my 4.2.

I have the 4.2 myself...by nature it seems to be a quiet motor. installed 3 different exhaust setups before I got the sound I wanted. my first one was a flowmaster delta 40...any of the delta flowmasters are quiet, IMO. my next one was a 40 series flowmaster...noticeably louder, but still not enough for me. I'm running true duals with glasspacks now, but I also like to hear my exhaust too. just my personal experience, and my 2 cents. flowmasters website does have a chart which maps out sound levels for each type of muffler they sell. good luck with your exhaust.

I put a Magnaflow on my girlfriend's 2002 F150 V6. Decently loud, good deep sound and rumble. On the highway there is no drone.
