Best exhaust for an I6?

I own a 1989 Ford F150 with the 4.9L I6, 4spd with granny low, 4X4, 4.10 gears, & it's a standard cab long box with only 69,000 miles on it. I'd say that's a pretty damn good truck for $1,000. I was wondering what would be the best route for exhaust on that truck. I would really like to have a throaty cackle type of exhaust that doesn't sound like a rice burner. I've got the stock exhaust on it now besides a glasspack that replaced the muffler & it's got a putter sound to it & it would be really nice to somehow get a throaty exhaust at a decent price.

Magnaflows seem to have a nice burble to them. You might try some Smithy's pipes too.

And, although I never have cared for Flowmasters on V8's, they have sounded fantastic on every 6-cylinder I've ever heard them on.

The Flowmaster will be ricey on an I6. Try a Magnaflow.
