Installing a cut out! HELP!

Okay here is the deal....

I ordered a 3" QTP cutout for my 2004 5.4L F-150.
I can handle all the wiring for it, but my question is which way do I mount it?

After viewing random clips of cars with it installed - some have it mounted with the Y facing the front of the vehicle, yet some mount it the cut out facing torward the back.

Which is right? Is there any advantages to either way?

Thanks,
-f2f-

Here is a pic from QTP website... is this the correct way or should it, the Y, be mounted in the other direction? If so, why are other folks mounting them backwards of this pic?

install it that way, making the exhaust do almost a 180 degree turnaround would hurt performance

Install the cutout the way the diagram shows reversing would cause unnecessary back pressure in the exhaust and be counter productive. The reason some people reverse it is with the thinking that it will cause the same back pressure as the muffler but with a louder sound as not to hurt off-idle acceleration that the cutout produces in some vehicles. I had a cutout on my '65 Mustang and they are pretty awesome.
