It's an I6, not a V-6. Big difference Anyhow, I've heard that the Flowmasters sound decent on the ol 4.9s.

And sinep, get your truck year and engine correct. Any pre 97 F-150 will have a 4.9 I-6, a 5.0 V-8, and a 5.8 V-8. Any 97+ F-150 has a 4.2 V-6, a 4.6 V-8, or a 5.4 V-8.

Yea I know, but the 4.9 I-6 sounds a lot better with exhaust than a 4.2 V-6 does.

That, and the design (V or I) of the engine. The I6's sound throatier and deeper IMO. And usually the inline 6's are bigger than the V-6s, so that helps out in the sound too.
