A buddy of mine has a 2001 ford v6 and is wanting to put an exhaust system on it. But is concerned about the sound. I would tell him myself but I don't know what a v6 sounds like with pipes on it. Is there a exhaust system out there that will make a v6 sound anything like a v8?

v8 sound cannot really come from a v6 but it can sound deep .. i have flowmaster on mine but magnaflow sounds good from what i have heard...

 

I used to have 4.2 V6. After researching the topic forever and input from different people and different shops, I finnally settled on a Ravin Z33. They sell them at Midas. It had a more deep mellow sound on acceleration and 0 drone at highway speeds. Over all I was very pleased with it.

 

I'm not too much on the V6 4.2L sorry but theres definatly a way to sound like a 8cyl, if not just exhaust, tell him to look into headers also.
