Can you mig weld muffler?
Hey guys,
I own a couple of classic 1967 Mustangs and do a lot of work on them including welding. Just wondering if I can use my mig welder to weld a new muffler on my new F150. I've never welded exhaust parts before and I'm not sure if the metal is aluminized and whether that makes a difference or not. I do know I can weld though.

Hey Q yes you can mig your exhaust,my whole exhaust setup on my rod was migged.Tig and Gas can be cleaner but depends a lot on how well you can weld.Watch out on the aluminised tubing as it can be a pain.I bought some from Summit and had to grind back to bare steel to get a good weld.Am not sure if the F150 tubing is aluminised.
