To dual or not to dual

New truck owner and am looking to upgrade the exhaust.

I have an '05 Screw 4x4 Lariat. Do I dual or single out the exhaust? What can I expect. I have been thinking Magnaflow, I am not looking for redneck loud.

I am sure this isn't the best place for this, but looking at the Airaid cold air intake with the throttle body as well. Any thoughts on that system?

Let me save you time, money, and a headache. Go with Mike Troyer and Troyer Performance. He has exactly what you need and knows what he is doing. From what I have read and heard, true duels is costly and only hurts your performance with these newer F150s. When it comes to performance, go with the Magnaflow SISO or SIDO cat back exhaust kit. The only difference is that the SISO gets 2-3 more horsepower. Troyer has all your exhaust, air intakes, and tuning needs covered.

i went with true duals done right-look in gallery-gained bottom end tq and hp-tq retention was very important since my van was heavy-phil

I just got my Magnaflow SIDO installed today. I tell you what I couldn't be happier. The sound is nice when you get on it, but its not annoyingly loud in the cabin. In my opinion the best system for these trucks unless your looking for something to wake the neighbors up, then this system is not for you.

I think my '05 Lariat 4x4 is getting the SIDO.

Thanks,

Did your truck come with 3.73 gears or did you make the change?

It would have to be the 3.73 gears cause I didn't change them.

I went with dual flowmaster on my 2004 and made all the difference. Stock you have dual cat to a single muffler. More power, better response time on acceleration, and better gas mileage by 2 per gallon. plus flowmaster sounds awesome. Plus with custom install (not a kit they bent there own pipes) only $400.
