What Intake System??

Wondering what intake system most of you guys are using? I already have dual 40 series Flows and the back cats cut off plus the Edge programmer. Was thinking about Volant. Any input would be appreciated.

I just installed a Volant on my 05 King Ranch Super crew with 5.4L engine. No "lean out" problems. Usually run about 70 mph while commuting. Really moans when I punch it. Do not have any milage estimates yet(waiting on the adaptive learing on the pcm for about a week to settle in).

Hi.

This has been kicked to death already, but here goes.

1. Looks good.
2. performs poorly (relative to other intakes)
3. Appears safe for A/F's, but on any 04+, datalogging in the ONLY way to be sure.
4. Use the Search feature.
5. Here's a couple:

6. It's your truck.
7. don't flame - I'm only referencing already-posted material.

Cheers

I am thinking of going with an AF1. BTW, since I can't send you a pm yet (post count sucks) how does the 35% windshield tint work for you? How is it at during the day/ at night?

THe 35% is perfect to me. I had 20% on my '03 supercrew and it was too dark at nightime

A nice shiney AF1 would look good under your hood.

Hi.

They're okay, but under controlled testing they do not perform as well as an AF1. Also, aluminum ( as is used in a 77) is inferior to Stainless (polished on the ouside only) for tube material. Those are well documented facts. And, a 3.25" AF1 is even better

The ultimate Non Sequitur of course, is to attempt to free up the intake, while at the same time choke down the exhaust with those silly little baffles in a Slowmaster. Net result = 0 .

Cheers
Bubba

I've pretty much got it narrowed down to the AF1 or Volant....

Another vote for the AF1 here! Like everyone else has been saying, be sure to check your A/F after installation. Good luck!
