Lightbulb Flow Master Price?

I just got a price from my local shop to install the Flow Master 40 series true duals on my 05 F150. My total with parts, labor and tax came to $797.54. It was a little more that I expected, but I'm still planning on doing it. Is this a reasonable price?

I figure that's a bit high, but if it's a respectable shop then I say go for it. But keep in mind each flow is less than 100 bucks each and if you dump it, it should be even cheaper

I found another piece of info that may have affected the price. I guess Flowmaster quit making stainless. They only make aluminized now. Because I live in western Pennsylvania, I insisted on having a complete stainless set up. My shop was able to find me 2 stainless Flowmasters at $139.95 a piece.

I checked out summitracing.com. Just for the materials from them it came to $774.32. So I guess I'm not getting a bad deal from my local shop.

Steve, thanks for the email. The pipes will be mandrell bent, no x pipe. And your pictures were nice. You got one heck of a deal. Are you happy with that set up?

nearly $800 for exhaust.... jeeze, then they better be good, Flowmaster itself is only around $500 some, install it yourself or with a friend who can weld you save $300. But being stainless piping I suppose its worth it, being a fellow P.A guy here I know how the rust factor over winter is....

Would love to take the cats off, but it would void my warranty. And in PA we have a little pain in the a** thing called inspection laws. I don't think you have to deal with those in GA.

Yeah we do. I just passed mine, and i am 4 weeks past due. You can remove two of the four cats. As long as they see cats inline, you're fine. They don't look for how many, just presence. That seems high from summit.
There are a lot of 15% or more discount coupons for summit out there. THey price everything assuming you are going to use one. Installation is a snap when its all bolt on and mandrel bent like the kit would be. I installed a SIDO 50 series system on a new HEMI and I as the retailer bought it for like $375. Keep shopping, you can do it cheaper

breacher40: Hey, glad you liked the pictures... I am very happy with my current set up! I would suggest an x-pipe if you go true duals, or look into a DIDO muffler with an x-pipe built in (I don't think Flowmaster does this, but other companies do).

For you guys that are talking about removing cats... Only the '04 model has 4 cats. My '05 has 2 cats, one on each side. These cannot be removed if you want to pass inspections (we have em in NC too).

You can pass in NC without converters. When I lived there, I was an inspector. You were cool, you passed. You were a ****, well, you didin't
