New air intake on older engine?

I just hit 170,000 on a 2000 4.6. I'm thinking of going with an Airaid intake. Anything I should watch for or any concerns adding something like this to a high mileage engine? Also, I understand that I should get a little bit of a power increase with an aftermarket intake, but will it kill or help any on gas mileage?
