true duals, you have two continous pipe coming from the manifolds all the way back. straight pipes generally means no muffler.

I'm also running true duals with no mufflers. Real nice tone, minus the hassle of trying a bunch of different mufflers.

Question

Hey,
Are you still running ""Cats" with your strait pipes, and what have you found about running with such little backpressure. I remember some auto know it all wrote a article in the paper talking that the lack of backpressure will olny hurt you in the end. He stated that the exhaust gasses pass much sooner, and therefore hotter over you exhaust valves, and not running with some backpressure will cost you a valve job in the end. He also went on to say that the amount of backpresure needed is somewhat up for debate still. Anyone hear about this being a risk?

the guy that did my exhaust told me to not worry about it cause i had 4 cats on so it wouldnt do anything. i guess if you put high flow cats on, like magnaflows, it might do something, but there pretty expensive so i dont expect to get some any time soon, or at all.

Thats my set-up, true duals with cats and no mufflers. The low end may have dropped a little, but I've gained it back in the top end which really picks up and sounds great. I think there is enough back pressure with the cats to prevent any engine damage.
