Mojave F150... Thanks for the reply on the Volant CAI. Do you like it? How loud is the growl? Is an annoying sound or a sound that makes you . I sure like the looks of the Volant and the write-up is good. It's an expensive item and I want to make sure I'll like it before purchasing. Last... Overall how satisfied are you with the Volant CAI/ BoB

i love the K&N cold air intake, doesn't really make alot of noise unless you nail the throttle butthen it sounds rather deep, and i like it.. the air raid thing whistled like no-body's business.. it was worse than squeeling brakes.. but i didn't return it, i used a dremel and filed down the ridges inside of it to smooth it out, and reinstalled it and it doesn't make any sounds now, but i can still feel some seat of the pants dyno improvement especially when coupled with the cold air intake..

Air intake
I to tried airaid cold air on my Jeep with the 5.7. Drove it from Mich to Florida and back. Have made this trip 3 times. Once with airaid, and there was no diff in fuel economy. If anything it was worse. Plus it was VERY loud. Couldn't wait to get home to take it off. Sold it on e-bay. PURE JUNK.

When I was looking to buy a ford I test drove an 06 with a full air raid intake and it was very noisy also, made a horrible sound and could hear it all the time. I didnt end up buying that vehicle but instead bought a stock 05 FX4 and have since put on an air raid Jr. intake tube with a K&N drop in filter and it is very quiet and I like the out come. Something to think about.
