04 f150 exhaust/rear cat cut offs

I've got an 04 f-150 with the 5.4l motor and I really need a better sound. Right now i just have a muffler delete with a piece of pipe welded in its place and it sounds like crap at higher rpms.

What I am thinking about doing is cutting off the rear 2 cats and having true duals run right out the back. The truck is so quiet even with no muffler its just odd, and i've heard that the 06 and up 150s have only 2 cats. So is what i am thinking of the right path to pursue?

Thanks

1st: if there are O2 sensors behind those cats (I don't know) the CEL will come on. You can purchase MIL eliminators to remidy this.

2nd: If you have emissions testing you won't pass.

You betcha. You will loose some torque though. I did this on my last truck and I could tell as soon as I left the shop.
