Ok, just received magnaflow 16612 today. I hope to install the exhaust by mid-week. Truck info. 2005 SCAB 5.4 4X4. I have two questions.
1. On the install, which direction does the off-set on the muffler (downstream end) go? Is this a question of "fit"? If you watch the video on the magnaflow site the tech first places the off-set facing the fame then as the video continues, the tech switches the positon of the off-set to face the drive shaft. Anyway, I guess once I get under the vehicle and start the install, all will become clear.
2. Since I will be disconnecting the battery, I would like to clean the MAS. I have the stock air box combined with an Airaid Jr. Can I clean the MAS by just removing the filter from the box without removing the MAS?
Any other tip that may come in handy during this endeavor would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

Since I wanted to pull the stock system off in on peice it was easier to unbolt the hangers. (trust me its a lot easier) We needed a 5lbs sledge hammer to hit the muffler to disconnect the piping from the front clamp. Keep in mind the front clamp gets reused. Now we used the 18'' pipe first. Next is the muffler and it went in to the center of the muffler and out was the offset that faced the drivers side of the truck then the next 2 pipes. Full install was less then 1.5 hrs start to finish. I never disconnected the battery. The system is very quiet but I remember this with my mustang also. It has to break in and it will take a few weeks to really break in. But the next day we went out and it was a lot louder but still quiet if that makes sense. Take your time, everything fit perfect.
