Volant CAI installed

I installed my Volant last night and love it. In WOT it runs great with no power loss at higher RPMs. I can definitely tell the increase in power. I put my exhaust on three days ago, and it seems slightly louder. This is a totally different truck than that I bought 3 weeks ago. Here are some pics.

Hey, change the way you entered that code. It's not the same as myspace. You have to put

Looks great! The enclosure looks massive in there, but I think your pics may have convinced me to go w/ the volant. before i buy one up, im goin to look more into the mod people make to the enclosure (lining it w/ dynamat to cut down on drone/or excessive noise.) I know you said you only drove around for a bit w/ it yesterday, but after you get somemore drive time w/ it, let me know what you think.

Cool

I have had my mind made up for some time that I was going to install the K&N, but now that I see these Volant CAIs with the enclosed filter, I am changing my mind.

BlackFX4inTN, how was the install? Do you think I can handle it??

Also, did you also put in the pre-filters? If so, snap a pic for us.

Finally, do you have performance numbers for it? I didn't see any on Volant's web site.

And what are you doing next? XCal2 or Edge?

The install was extremely easy. I started the install as soon as UPS dropped it off. The only hangup was that in order to take the MAF senser off the stock intake and put it on the new one, your need a torx key(T20) to get it off. I had to run by Advance since I didn't own one, but when I got back it took no time at all. It was kind of rough fitting the big box in that tight space next to the power steering thing but if you just work with it, it fits in perfectly. No pre filters for me and I don't have any numbers on it. The next thing I'm going to do is get it programmed at hypertec. They're only going to charge me $50, so what the hell. I've read a lot about Edge and I really like what I've seen. That will be a little later down the line, especially since I just dropped off $2,000 on a stereo. Damn, I wish I didn't do that!

Torx key, is that sort of like an Allen wrench but star shaped? If so, I had to buy one to install my Roush grille.

Well, I think the Volant CAI is my next project. Happily, now that I am over 40, I no longer feel the need to buy $2000 stereos.

Looks good. You put this on a 2007? I hear the throttle body has been moved slightly on the 2007. Was this a problem? Their web site only shows 2004 - 2006 models. Not many manufactures show anything for the 2007 yet.

Thanks.

The only change in throttle body position happened in 2005. It moved out slightly from the firewall going toward the radiator. This is why most kits fit great on 2005+ trucks, but the 2004 trucks can cause frustration while installing the tube.

Yeah, it's on an 07. Before I ordered it I called Volant to make sure because I saw just what you did , in that they only had them for 04-06. She gave me the same model # as the o4-06 (19754) and she said that they just haven't updated the years yet.
