14"

I just put the 5x8 14" SI/SO on my truck in the stock location and im not impressed at all. To me it seems to quiet. I havent got to hear it go down the road yet so ill have to wait and see then.

When i start my truck with my remote start at 5 am its seems really loud but once it warms up it gets way to quiet.

I was thinking about just dumping it but wasnt sure how it would sound in the cab?? Yeah when you get on it i can sorta notice it but at idle you cant tell a difference. Maybe once it gets broke in it will get louder??

I bet that 22" is REAL quiet.

I also just installed a 14" 4x9 si/so maggie at stock location and too feel it's too quiet. My Volant intake is louder than it at full throttle. It has a nice low rumble when it starts but then at idle you can barley tell it's there ( with windows up you can't.) Crusing speeds on the highway theres little to no drone, you can hear it when you punch it but then again the Volant is louder.

To me this is what the truck should've sounded like from the factory.
I'm thinking about changing it out to a flow 50 or 40 series.

I just ordered the flowmaster 10 series race muffler and it should be here in a day or two. I'm planning on dumping it.

I dought it, if it is I don't think it'll be enough to make a big difference. When I picked up my 14" (all the shop had at the time) I was thinking that it would be too loud as most people here run the 18" and I was really surprised how quiet it was. This thing has to be maybe a 1/4 the size of the stocker.

I'll see if I can get a sound clip up later tonight.

Edit...Here's the sound clip...

I have a 5x8x14 on mine that was put in to replace JUST the oem muffler. Mine sounds like the one in the clip, but maybe a tad bit louder. Most of the bark is when under load of the truck. I thought it was going to be a lot louder than it is.. I would have been really disappointed in the 18" or bigger.

I did put the exact 14" maggie on the 94 Bronco and that mother is loud. With I would have put a 18" one on. I guess it is the 4 cats on the F150 that really quiet it down.

It does sound better in person but like I said it is'nt too loud at all.
I'm going to dump it this weekend and see if I like it better if not it's out and Flowmaster in.

well I thought about buying the round muffler, as I thought this might be louder. I want sound, but not an awful amount of drone.

I'd like to hear it when you get it dumped

I might be interested in taking it off your hands if it was clamped and not welded in. Tried to PM you, but the system says you don't accept them? Feel free to PM me if you want to get rid of it. Thanks.

That's because he doesn't have 100 posts! You will have to e-mail him.

It will get a little louder and deeper as it breaks in, but it sounds good
