Which Air intake system is the best for F-150?

I recently installed 40 series flowmasters on my truck and am currently in the process of adding a cold air intake system. I have looked into the K&N 77 series, 57 series and 63 series. Which will add the most horse power? and is there any other brands that i might want to consider that are better? Please reply.

Thanks

PearlandAl

What do you guys think about the Volant system, I live down south about 15 min. south of Houston, Tx and I have been told that the closed intake system works best in hotter climates and it improves horsepower.

Hi.

Well, they appear well made.

If it wasn't for the fact that they fall on their faces above 4,000 rpm (as tested by TP on their dyno at a dyno day event - which caused at least one person present to rip his out and install an AF1 on the spot ).

Otherwise they would be a contender.

I go above 4,000 rpm a lot. With the custom tuning & the way the truck runs now, I simply can't help it

Cheers

Well allot of you are saying that the AF1 or the way to go and have been proven on Dyno testing so I will have to look futher into them. Since this is my first time getting an intake system what kind of problems will I run into when it comes time for inspection. Some are CARB expemt and other say pending. Can I get an inspection with a CARB intake pending?

Hi.

AF1 comes with a CARB sticker. No problem there.

Best advice is to simply call Mike Troyer & talk to him. Then decide. In other words, go to the source.

Look at it this way - depend upon maufacturer's claims, or an independent performance shop specializing in F150's (TP), who could sell just about anything, but R&D and test the crap out of everything and base their impartial recommendations on those results ??? And use those same products in all their vehicles?

Me? I'll take the latter, any day.

I can't make it plainer than that. Repeat - Call Them !

Cheers

Go to the very top right of your screen and click on site sponsers. You can also do a search for his posts and read a lot of what Mike has to say. That will keep you busy for a while. Your best bet is to just call him.

As an alternative, a lot of the guys really like the new S & B Intake. Look through the threads, there are a couple with lots of pics.
