just not cuttin it
got an 01 king ranch 4.6 and just got a basic dual exhaust setup on it
-SI/DO "generic flowmaster" muffler
-3 1/2 inch tips straight out the back.
well i got this setup put in a few months ago and it was pretty cheap
it sounds ok but its just well.. not enough.
it only has good volume/tone in the "drone" rpms and right after that it pretty much sounds like a mustang ( mustangs sound great ( i love the throaty sound they have) but i need a beefier sound in a truck, the sound i get is wayy to throaty w/ no tone to back it up) up untill about 3k rpm - redline, where at this point i can barely hear the exhaust n e more, its mostly engine.
we got an 06 daytona charger (please dont beat me) w/ a catback exhaust that you cant hear all at lower rpm's but by the time it redlines it's screamin.
also, is there any way to get that poppin' sound like a straight pipe ( only at the higher rpm's) and still keep the nice tone of a flowmaster ( at lower rps's)
so any ideas on how to make it a bit louder without spending out the butthole?
and why on earth the higher the engine revvs the quieter it gets?

No it's not stupid loud at all. As long as you put it between the cats, and the muffler, your still getting a little bit going through the muffler which really helps keep it nice and mellow. It will just give it a nice deep sound that sounds great at WOT. Mine's I don't know, about 8" or so from the muffler.
I had thought about just removing the cat, like I did on my camaro but after having both and being able to compare, I'll never remove the cat again.
