No Drone
#17
Basically it’s a consistent, steady, unchanging tone low to mid rpm band. Especially up-hill with around 1800 – 2000 rpm that tends to annoy everyone in the car. Installed in the same location as stock with the stock rubber brackets by a Ford dealer.

These trucks seem to exhibit this seemingly at randon regardless of which brand is installed.
I'll bet it's got something to do with muffler location, installation technique ( hangers being stressed), and some other inexplicable variables. It is well known that the further back the muffler is, the less chance of drone ...
Thanks.

I know a V6 is totally different than your V8, but I put a Flopro V-Force SI/SO on my V6 and kept the stock pipes - no drone at ALL. My sister and nephew both have Flowmasters with stock pipes on their V6 Rangers and they do nothing BUT drone. Whatever you use, rubber mounted hangers and full tailpipes exiting behind the wheels or straight out back will minimize drone.

I have the exact same problem at the 1800-2000 rpm range with the Banks Monster exhaust. It goes beyond annoying in mine, at precisely 1900 rpm on a slight grade I bet I can run you out of the cab. I have been researching for the past couple of weeks trying to identify and hopefully resolve the problem. At first I thought it was the clamps and mounts too, I replaced all the standard clamps with accuseal band clamps and torqued to spec from the front to rear. I also tried adding more support in certain locations by using large hose clamps from the piping to the frame to see if that would take out vibration to no avail. I really hate this because at every other rpm the Banks sounds awesome, but I stay in that mid range too much for it not to bother me.
I think my specific problem is because I have a regular cab truck. Most of the major brands like Borla , Corsa, ect. don't even offer a system for the regular cab, and for those that do all the R&D and optimal tuning goes into the CC/EC and the regular cab is just a retrofit.
I can vouch for Banks that they do have good customer service though and they are trying to help me solve the problem. The standard muffler for the F-150 with thier system is 16", and they sent me a 24" muffler to swap it out with. That brings up another interesting detail, the F-150 is the only truck that uses the 16" while thier system for Toyota, Nissan, Chevy, and Dodge use the 24". Anyway I guess I'll know whether this will work or not once I get the time to modify my pipes to fit in the new can.

Really deep sounds, deeper than flowmasters but not as loud. About the same loudness as magnaflow 18 inch but with more of a classic sound.
Which Cherry Bomb muffler do you have? I see they have a Vortex, Turbo, Pro, Elite all available with SISO. What length is the body?

How was the fit and finish?
Which length muffler did the catback system use, 18" or 26"?
Is the muffler a straight through design like a Magnaflow or a turbo style?
Can you hear the exhaust inside the cab at all through any RPM range?
Thanks,
Mark

Fit and finish is outstanding( not stainless except tips)
18" -3" inlet with dual 2 1/2 outlet behind tire looks like harley
straight thru design
it sounds GOOD from idle all the way through the gears but at 65-75 there is no drone and barely audible but kick it down and she's there
