I had a magnaflow sido installed a couple of weeks ago, now I am noticing some black soot around the edge of my exhaust tips. Is this a reason to be concerned, or not?

I am having the same problem with the Magnaflow that I had installed also.

 

Maybe it is due to the newness, and might go away after a break-in period. Anyone confirm/deny this?

 

hmm not sure, thats quite normal for exhausts to have you can always see that around the exhaust leaks in your pipes, making it all the way to the tips kinda surprizing though, for cleaning it use steel wool a couple inches inside the tip and hose off.

 

Its common so no need to worry. Very noticeable with chrome tips. Mine has it on them all the time. Just gotta clean it off.

Same on my Borla tip, just clean it off.. some chrome polish seems to slow it down too..
