Exhaust tip for the stock exhaust? Clamp on or weld?

Just wondering what people are running. I really don't have the cash to replace from the catback. Wife would shoot me, but I do plan on getting a magnaflow cut in to my existing system (eventually). For the time being I'd like dress up the tailpipe. I live in the northeast so having it off in the winter would probably be helpful. But at the same time to clampon's look terrible? Should I go stainless or chrome? Lastly where do you reccomend getting one.

I'd go w/ stainless and weld it since you live up north.Tips are relatively cheap and should last years even w/salt.I don't know where the best deal is on them.

Go with weld, then just snap and fit. Welding will last longer and will be for the better.

Sounds good, so it sounds like stainless, weld on. Now to find a good vendor.

Hey Goldmember, check out www.performancepeddler.com I was searching in there for a tip myself, I like the look of a larger tip but they have all kinds, sizes, shapes etc... also mufflers and complete systems. I read on a forum that there is a discount code to enter at checkout, I will try to find it and post it here. Also let me know if you find something local, I live in MA also

Thanks for the code. I've looked around on performance peddler but I have two problems...I have no idea which magnaflow to get. I know I want the 18" SISO, but I have no idea which one is the right one. Same with the tips? I believe I'll need the 2.5 inlet but what length.

tmd07, where abouts in Mass are you from?

I'm going with a 14250 muffler, but still can't find a tip I like.

The tip you picked out is 22" long. Go measure your exhaust, and you will find far less than 22" before the first bend. A 22" tip will stick out pretty far in other words.

On my '05 I only have 10" of pipe past the bend. I measured from the tip to where the pipe folds in from the bend.

Yes, we need a 2.5" opening, but I cant find an angled/rolled/SS tip that is short enough. I prefer a 3.0 or 3.5" exit opening.

Any ideas guys? What are others putting on their 2004+ trucks??

Excellent. glad to know I'm on the right track. I'd only want the tip to look like what comes on a magnaflow cat back setup.
