question about #14316 for magnaflow rep

Hi there, looking at changing just my muffler on my 2006 screw 5.4 4x4. Looking at the magnaflow #14316. will this work ok on my truck? I have the stock s.s. 2.5" pipes so getting a whole system seems like a waste for me. Will this sound good and will I gain/lose any performance. I don't want it too soft or too loud. I like the offroad mustang sound and someone else told me this one will sound similar.

Hey tmd07, I'm not a maggie rep but I have talked with them and the one you would need is the 14326, because our trucks require the offset in and center out style. I would also recommend going with the non-polished stainless steel muffler because for what I have read about the polished one's is that over time they can start to rust from the sandblasting from road debris. whereas the non-polished won't. The guy at Magnaflow recommended the 5x11x22, said it has all the sound on the outside and not on the inside.

Thanks for the info! I checked on www.performancepeddler.com for pricing. The one I actually need is 11226 non-polished s.s. The 14326 is the polished version. I will post how I made out if I get this one...

I'm getting the 11256 it is a 4x9x18 non-polished s.s. and the tip I chose is 35204 which is a 2.5 inlet/ 12" long / 3" outlet, 15 degree rolled edge.
My local shop quoted me $50 to install the two.

OK...I am about 95% set on getting the 14" magnaflow muffler. But does anybody have the 11"?? Just wondering how the sound is on that one. I have heard a sound clip of the 14" but just want to make sure it's the one I want..I don't want it to sound to quiet and I don't like to do things twice!

Not a problem; that is what this site is for right?
About the 11" the only thing I can say is beware of the interior drone for what I have heard they will cause you to have a lot of interior drone, but to help reduce the amount of drone you want to mount the muffler as far back away from the cab as possible. With the 14" I have heard some say that it has major drone at hwy speeds and other who have said the opposite. That is my biggest concern whith my muffler choice (if you can't tell) but I do want to know that it is there.
