pipe connecting question

with 3" true duals, and a SI/DO muffler ( 3" in 2.5" out ), y connecting the pipes and connecting the muffler onto it and exiting with dual tips will still sound good right? I'm just concerned and on the cheap side of things and dont want to buy two si/so mufflers plus there is no x pipe on the true duals so the y connector pipe could combine the sound before the muffler and sound good right? thanks for reading.

I think i'm confused You have true duels now correct? Are you talking about fabbing a y-pipe into your current system so you can run single inlet, duel outlet.I think this what you are talking about. Also if this is what you are talking about on performance peddler i just submitted an offer and it was excepted.2 14in maggies for $100 shipped, can't beat that for two mufflers.

No the truck already has 3" duals on it. To avoid buying two si/so mufflers ( and having to x pipe ) I wanted to get a si/do since the muffler of choice is not available in di/do, and get a little y connector to connect the dual pipes and the muffler together. I wanted to know if it would still sound good and deep or would it sorta make it louder?
