Exhaust system

I went to my local muffler shop today and found that they would do a Flowmaster 40 series(3" in & 2 2.5" out) , two tips, pipes, and all the side exit installation for $300. Thats pretty reasonable. Right? My real question is what will the exhaust do for the performance of my truck? Any changes in torque or horsepower? positive or negitive? MPG?

Thanks,
Trent Kammerer

300$ sounds good. youll probably get a few more horses out of it. best way is to throw some headers on then you will see real power gains. what motor do you have???

an exhaust gives you dyno numbers, not really noticeable numbers on a heavy truck it takes like +30 or more HP to notice a difference on a full size truck and you definately won't get that from just mufflers

atleast 1 - 2mpg gain, and some slight noticeable power, if all installed correctly and properly, if not, you will be seeing the oppsite, robbed torque, and lower mpg.
