Which exhaust system?

hello, I have a ford f-150 Lariat 4x4 2005 which i would like to put an exhaust system on but have some concerns of loudness (decibel levels).
Im looking for something that is not too loud in highway driving as I do alot of it also like to gain performance at the same time. Ive only heard one type of exhaust so far and would like to know if anybody have any ideas on this! Thanks again!

A Magnaflow exhaust system is just what your looking for, I'm not too educated on Magnaflow ( Flowmaster guy here haha ) but Magnaflow doesn't drone, isn't obnoxious, and is built of stainless steel to last as long as you have the truck.

I would definitely go with magnaflow. i have it set up on my 5.4 06 Screw. The sound is a mellow growl on the highway with no drone. But dont get it twisted. Once you put your foot down, this system comes to life. You will definitely know that there's a V8 under the hood. U will also gain some performance, which is always good.

You'll probably be pretty happy with Magnaflow. I put the Lightning style on my '04 Screw 4X4. It will drone in one circumstance. Long high speed uphill where the truck is starting to work a little and hasn't downshifted yet. Solution is to give it a little more gas, but it's really not a problem. Love the sound at take off.....

I have the MBRP side single side exit and am really happy with the sound, look and quality of the system. My wife even likes it. Now that's a big seller for me.

I love my Borla SI/SO.. nice, sweet rumble, not so loud as to wake the neighbors, no drone at all when cruising at any speed and 1.8 mpg gain on the highway..

www.bolra.com has soundclips..

I have a Banks monster exhaust and really like it. I usually run Flowmaster on everything, But decided to try something different this time. I went w/Banks because of all the r&d time Gale Banks puts into his products. The sound is great and there isn't a drone cruising on the highway.

Gibson is very quiet. Not too much louder than stock.

Go with a 14" or 18" Magnaflow.

I did a Magnaflow Cat-back on my 98, but went with just the muffler this time. Cheap and happy.

What did you end up going with? Which magnaflow model was recommended to achieve the sound and performance you wanted? I am interested in putting the same type of exhaust on my 2004 5.4 Supercrew. Not too loud but enough to let you know its a V8.

FlowMaster 40 Series S/i D/O the back. Not to loud, but not to weak either.

My dad has true dual flowmaster 40 series delta flow. The delta flows arent that loud, they have a nice deep rumble at idle and they sound great under accleration but not too loud, just something to think about. He also picked up 1.5 mpg, and the mufflers arent even broken in yet.

I have Corsa Exhaust on my truck and i really like it. It is very quiet while cruising and when you hit the gas it has a nice roar to it and there is no drone at all. Overall I am extremely happy with it.
