Is there a diffrence in this



Verses this



idk if i want to try to build the little box or not give me your suggestions

The box will give you colder air because you are separating the engine heat from the fresh cold air. It will help especially from a stop because you won't have a build up of hot air in the engine compartment... makes it better for a 0-60 from a stop.

The "box"/heatshield should also mate up nicely to the underside of your hood and prevent some infiltration of dirt, dust, water, etc..

Here's a pic of the shield on my AF1.. 3" intake, '05, 4.6L
