Exclamation dynatech longtube header ? (attn: built54!)

hey. i'm running true duals, 2.5'' piping, an x pipe, two high flow cats, and a magnaflow muffler on an 03 5.4 l v8. next, i wanna upgrade to dynatech longtube headers. however, on the troyer performance site, i only saw a kit, including headers and cats. i only need the headers. where can i find them only? also, what other problems may i run into installing them? thanx!

I have looked around on summit racing and I think that is all that dynatech sells is the entire kit.

Jegs sells just the headers or the whole kit. Just the headers are like $1000, but you can probably find a better deal than that!

dont get those, get the ones from www.rpmoutlet.com I got just the headers for $875 I think. Much cheaper than jegs. Get the ones for the lightning, they are the same thing. I had no problems at all putting mine on. I had my old shorties off and the dynatechs on in 2 hours.

well, i finally took the plunge and ordered my dynatech longtubes yesterday. i'm really excited, and can't wait for them to arrive and to install them. Right now, I'm running a true dual system w/ 2.5'' piping, two magnaflow high flow cats, an x pipe, and a magnaflow muffler. I can post before and after sound clips if anyone is interested...

I've been thinking about a set too, but want to keep my cat back system. How do they fit in conjunction with it, the Dynatech's with the cats etc? What difference is there between the "4x4" and "Lightning" if any?

the 4x4 mid pipe is bent to go around the transfer case. You can use your stock catback, even your stock two bigger cats if you cut and weld them in the right spot.

A quick update: My headers ARE HERE! I plan on installing them sometime this week. I still plan on uploading sound clips, so hang on a little longer...

I looked today for curiosity to see how the manifold studs and bolts are, hum, I think that was them under there! Sound clips would be nice, before and after, maybe inside and out or drive by's. Good luck.

Question

Ok, built54, one quick question. I was looking at things today under my truck, and the measurements are looking tight. I may have to move my two high flow cats a couple inches back to accomodate for the longtubes. If so, will this affect anything else, and what else would have to be changed as well? The exhaust shop who did my system took everything right up to the manifold, (the cats are a ways back, but maybe not far enough) and at the very least, I am looking at *some* cutting/moving. I will also need a new flange of some sort, as the one where the last piping meets the manifold has only two bolts, and the longtubes have three bolt holes. Can this be bought/fabbed up at an exhaust shop? I am just trying to keep changes to the very minimum, and I still want my emissions components to function correctly, and not have to deal with leaks, etc. Thanks, as always for your guys' help.
