i havent noticed a wind sound with my pro muffler. but over a flowmaster 40 and a cherry bomb pro. i dont see hardly any difference. i replaced my 40 with the pro and i couldnt tell the difference. but now i hear it. alot louder and no drone.

i have to disagree and say that the extreme is quite loud.. just give it some time to break-in, you might change your mind..

Increased loudness with 'Break-In'

It's a characteristic of straight through design mufflers with fiberglass or other synthetic material packed into them to chamber the sound rather than using chambers or baffles. There's a little excess material in there that gets blown out in the first couple hundred miles you drive it with the new muffler on and as this happens the decibel level will increase.

All mufflers break in, not just the ones with glass packing, which the Extreme doesn't even have.

give it alittle time and mileage. if your not satisfied with the results after driving with it. get a y-pipe and run straights or true duals with si/so extremes. since the extreme is pretty much a flowmaster 10 anyway lol

But if there is nothing but tack welded metal baffles in there, I am not sure I totally understand what material inside the muffler is getting 'broken in.'

Ever notice that the outside housing changes colors after it has been ran for awhile? That is the steel changing tempers, the more it heats up and cools down the harder it gets, and the louder the sound.
