stock intake mods... it works!!!

i read an article on this web site tellin me how to modify my stock air intake by taking out the silencer... and i will be the first to back them up in saying it works!! not in the way of hp but i can tell a difference n throttle response and mpg... most of the time ill get bout 330 mile to a full tank... but as of now i have 358 and i still have bout an 8th of a tank left... i would recommend this mod!

Placebo effect.

One tank of gas is not enough to give conclusive results.

Record your gas mileage for a couple months, then come talk to us (assuming you've done this prior to the "silencer removale").

i just did the same thing. took me 15 mins. I notice it was a little bit more throttle response and around 3-4k rpm. And the truck weights .5lb less.

I did this mod the week after I bought my truck and noticed a difference. A little more pep when you hammer down on the pedal, and the sound at WOT is amazing.

are you guys just taking the small silencer off that connect to the fender or the whole big part where the filter goes in?

Actually its a tube inside of the L-tube that connects the throttle body to the big air box.

If you take the L-tube off and put your hand inside of it, your going to feel a tighter tube inside. It takes a lot of muscle/twisting/turning/cursing to get the son of a b out, but its free and does make a difference.

catlic conveters

If I cut off all four of my converters and put on two hi flow converters and a catback exsuast system, will I get any computer cods, will it really inprove my performance on a 00 -150 5.4 v8 is it leagle to cut off the catolic converters. I did go to a muffler shop to have the work done, and I was told they wehre not leagley allowed to take the converters off, but would do it for me. It was going to cost me about $800.00 to have it done. Does that sound about right?
