Is it worth it to upgrade your MAF?

I found this website http://www.granatellimotorsports.com/fordmaftruck.htm that claims to add any were between 10-35 HP

This seems like gold but I want to know from you guys if it is worth it.

only if you get a custom tune with it. they are not programed to your truck, they will make you go lean and cause you to vent your block.

Prior to getting my tune from Troyer, I called and inquired about upgrading my MAF to a granatelli, Troyer urged me to get a Ford Lightning MAF instead as they have far more success in providing tunes for it versus the Granatelli. For many years prior I always saw Granatelli MAFs for GM products and not too often for Fords. I took Troyer's advice and now I am running their tune with the Lightning MAF. It is a 90mm ID sensor, definitely much larger than stock.

If you have an aftermarket CAI, then invest in a larger adapter boot to fit onto a larger MAF.

Maf upgrade

I was also looking into upgrading my maf,but after posting my question here,a couple of other members posted back and said if I havent modified the engine so it can handle or pass more air,(i.e. port or polish heads, bigger cams, bigger intake)I was throwing my $$ away. The larger maf will handle more air,so your engine also needs to handle more air,it makes sense to me.Your factory maf is good out to about 400 hp,so unless you plan something like a supercharger or anything else that will push alot of air,you should be fine w/ your stock maf.Hope this helped, good luck.
