I have decided on an AF1 3" intake....

my question is, will my 03 4.6L run lean with the intake if I do not as of yet have a custom tune?

You won't have any problems at all, you're gonna love the better throttle response and little bit of growl..

The installation is very easy too..

Let us know how ya like it..

I just ordered mine from Troyer. When you say it's easy to install, does that mean easy for a beginner (like myself) or easy for someone with some experience? What kind of process are we talking about and how long did it take you?

most intakes are pretty easy to install. i was a beginner when i installed mine (i had never done any work under the hood previously) and it took me and my buddy an hour or so to install my K&N kit.

Yep, simple as can be.. like two screwdrivers and a couple of wrenches..

The hardest part is removing the MAF from the stock intake, but even that's not very hard, just be patient..

I'm no mechanic and it took me about 45 minutes to remove the stock and put the AF1 on..

I returned to the stock intake for a trip to the dealer a month or so ago and now it takes me like 20 minutes to swap 'em out.. lol

Do you happen to have a copy of the instructions or some quick notes? I just bought one w/out any instructions. (I have a 1999 4.6l) I can probably figure it out anyways but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
