mac headers
Before you buy your headers, listen to my story.
I purchased mac headers for my 2003 4.2l v6 from late model restoration. When I went to install them the passenger side didn't fit, it had about 1/2" gap at the "y" pipe. Since i got a small scratch on it during install, they refused to return them. I called MAC, and they refused to believe the headers wouldnt fit, and I must have done something wrong. I run a weld shop so since they wouldn't return them, I tried to fix it, but the ball warpped during welding, and they leaked. I tried using "the old fashioned black seal", but it didn't work.Mac agreed to sell meanother passanger side header. Surprise, that one didn't fit either. Now i am out another $180+. Mac then realized that the "Y" pipe was changed around 2001 on 4.2's. Surprise, I did install them correct. Mac refused to refund the full purchase price saying they could get a 2003 and fix the problem. It's now been 1 year later and they say it's not worth it for them to get a 2003, "it wouldn't be worth them spending the money to fix the problem". Where is my money? I guess its ok that the consumer gets screwed, as long as Mac dosen't loose any money. The moral of this story, Mac dosent care about their customers, they only care about thier pocket book. Take my advise don't buy from Mac performance products, they don't care about you.
