01 F150 cut the rear cats!!!

Ive been reading on doing this for a while, ive heard it will throw off the sensors and it would sound like crap, some people said its dosent hurt anything sooo i tryed it for myself. It sounds alot better it has a deeper more throaty sound and its not throwing any kind of codes, it feels less restricted and better acceleration. The only bad thing i have to say about it is it was a LOT of work!! heres some pics

looks close to what i want to do. im going to have it go down pipe Dynomax super turbos no mufflers. im having the front o2 put in the pipe and i have o2 simulators for the rear o2 senors. isnt the passenger pipe oh so much fun to get off? lol i did that last weekend to put the mufflers up to look and see what id have to do to make them fit were the cats were. it took some time. lol a 4.6L with pacesetter open headers sounds kinda goofy lol. blew lots of smoke every were...not alot of poping thoe but i didnt run it open very long prob not even 5 mins i just wanted to here it open lol.

hahaha yea tell me about it the passenger side was horrible!! when i went to put that side back on the nut was locked on the stud it wasnt moving for anything i had to pull the hole thing and replace the stud. When i was doing this i removed the tranny mount and pulled it out in one piece is that what you did??

no i have a 1997 F-150 i donno if anything is differnt with the mounting but i have turn downs after the 2nd o2 senors right now and i just took the pipe off and it wouldnt just fall out like the drive side did. so i took the turn down off and it barley came down. ya on those flange bolts i droped an air rachet on my chin. it still hurts from sunday. i ended up just geting a swivle 5/8's on one end and i held that as i had a 11/16's long extention going right under the headers and that seemd to work very well. i learned alot of how to take that off and put back on so when i get my down pipes i can do it pretty quick. lol only one of my mufflers will fit were the cats went the driver side barley fits between the frame and trans and the passenger is way to small i have to have that out passed were the 2nd o2 is at...once i get enogh money im going to run some crazy tips off my truck...no one else will have the exhuast tips im going to get..ill post pics when i get it done. both of my mufflers up there and when i get the crazy tips lol. i think u guys will have a good lagh.

I ran the same set up for about 7 or 8 months . I had just the front cats w/magnaflow cat back. - Oh - Nice Clean Job BTW..

There really isn't a need for simulators - pre 2000 models. - I know how the O2's function and never would want give that up - unless I had to.

My set up sounded like a nice GT

I have long tubes now , but I liked the older sound better

These things really freakin fly w/longtubes
