Exhaust tip ?s
Right now I have a ss maggie tip on it that has been on for a little over a year. I try and keep it clean but especially after this winter it's getting all fubar-ed. I really like the look of it, but I'm tired of cleaining it up. Any suggestions on what to do?
1. Clean it up again... and again...
2. Buy mud flaps
3. Dump exhaust (althouth this would be my last choice)
4. Get new tip every year
5. Someone here had painted (?) their tip black... I have searched and have not found the person/post. I think this would look schweeeet but I cannot find the info. Maybe this would be best? I'm entertaining this idea as best.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

is it a chromey or a stainless polished?
chrome shouldnt be hard to keep clean so i imagine its a polished piece.
If your having trouble keeping it nice and polished, do the following.
Polish it out, do a really nice job, take yoru time with it.
Once done, clear coat it. it will stay shiny and clean up as easily as your truck.
As far as painting, it shouldnt be that hard. You dont really need a thread to show you how to do that do you? Or is it pics you desire?

any good automotive clear.
Just take it to a body shop and have them clear it with whatever clear they have handy next time they shoot. Shouldnt cost very much for a tip.
Dont use the cheapo krylon clear from walmart though.
Spray can clear usually wont stand up to the elements as well as a properly mixed clear coat.
