^ Let me sum this up for you. The smaller the muffler, the less the sound reduction. The larger the muffler, the more sound reduction. This is true unless your comparing a straight threw muffler to a chambered muffler. At this point, you should just realize that a chambered muffler will sound like garbage.

I'll have to second this suggestion because I have one installed on my 2004 XLT 5.4L and it sounds pretty good. No drone in the cab whatsoever and it is extremely clean sounding. At around 2000rpm (normal shift point for me) it sounds really good and is moderately audible in the cab, but the more gas you give it the better it sounds.
Just cruising around anywhere below 55mph (1000-1700rpms) you won't really hear it all that much unless you're specifically listening for the tone, but I like it this way since there is minimal cabin noise. I've only driven about 500 miles since I first installed it and it has gotten noticeably louder since then and I'm expecting it to be fully broken in by 1000.
