Some of the 04's had a lean condition right off the lot. Nothing that AF1 or any other intake can or will do to fix that, it's just that the AF1 will not make a properly running truck run lean once installed. The only way to correct a previously existing problem such as a lean condition when stock would be tuning. For those who don't have a lean condition paying a little more for a good intake, such as the AF1, will ensure that you don't run lean after ther install

If you've got an engine that runs lean to begin with any intake will only make it worse unless and until you get customized tunes to compensate.

It's pretty generally accepted that the 3" AF1 intake is the only one that won't cause a lean condition on its own.

That's what I use, and only because there's no 3.5" AF1 for my 4.6L.. LOL

Nice increase in throttle response, verrrry nice growl from under the hood..

Again, just be aware that putting on a "cai" kit is a major change for your engine and the PCM. They need to be able to agree upon some things, shake hands..

Once you've gotten tuned though, no worries.. any of the tuning vendors you see on here should be able to hook ya up.

I have the Roush Cold air and i love it. Its made by airaid and it has a oiled filter. I noticed a definite increase in power, performance, and sound
