straight exhaust no mufflers

i just got rid of my old exhaust systen got rid of the flowmasters ands went from the cats about 3 feet...it sounds great when i get on it but if i just touch the gas to normally accelerate it sounds a little weird but oh well but my question is how bad is it for your truck to do this

not bad at all. bout the only thing you are hurting is your brain cells. if you sit in one place too long with the engine running. the carbon monoxide can build up. but thats about it

Not to mention that it probably won't pass inspection now. Do you feel a difference in the power? Some vehicles just run better with a muffler. The back pressure of a muffler adds to the torque from what I've heard.

Right on. Must be nice to not have inspections!! I was told on here once that going with anything bigger than a 2.5 pipe would cut down on the torque. Have you noticed any loss of power at this point?

yea, gotta love no inspections in fl. except when your driving down the road and see something that you would even see in a junkyard and someones driving it...

But how annoying is the no muffler? I like a nice throaty sound on take off and then for it to drown out when I drive long distances.

for open exhaust. For gawds sake, you have 4 cats and two pipes go into one... removing the muffler can only help and it sounds great!

Had Azmidget cut my muffler off and ad a 2.5-3.5" 18"long tip exiting lightning stlye on mine with 97 miles on the odo

At idle has a sweet rumble, and at WOT, well yeah lol

We have inspections in Az, but when your purchase brand new you are exempt for 5 years, so for 5 years I can do it, then buy a muffler to pass then take it off again

Just buy a Cut-out and keep your muffler on when ever you want it a lil louder roll under take off 3 wing nuts and the cover and BAM your No muffler. i have it to make my truck open headers when i pull the covers...

acyually the 05 and up only have 2 cats.I think its quieter though with the 2 cats then my 99 was with the 4 cats.Maybe its because the cats are a lot bigger on these then the 4 little ones.
